Technology Uplift offers several programs and services to low-income communities, non-profit organizations and government agencies.

Uplift Computer Center Program

Uplift Computer Center at Central ParkThe Uplift Computer Center Program is designed to install computer centers in community centers. The computer centers provide residents access to computer technology. In addition, community residents may obtain hands-on computer training provided by the Technology Uplift staff.

Technology Uplift has implemented Uplift Computer Centers in Atlanta, Georgia and Norfolk, Virginia. Below is a listing of each location in both metro areas.

A+ Certification Program

The A+ Certification Program is being provided to youth from several inner city communities within Atlanta, GA. The program will prepare students for A+ Certification tests CompTIA A+ Essentials 220-601 and one of the following: A CompTIA A+ 220-602 IT Technician, CompTIA A+ 220-603 Remote Support Technician or CompTIA A+ 220-604 Depot Technician. An A+ Certified Instructor will teach the course.

A+ Certification Class Fall 2005In accordance with the mission and goals of the organization, Technology Uplift will enhance computer literacy within the community through hands on instruction, provide students with marketable skills upon course completion, and create a workforce that will be able to support the technological needs of future Technology Uplift Computer Centers.

Uplift Youth Mentoring Program

The Uplift Youth Mentoring Program is designed to provide children and teenagers an opportunity to increase their computer technology knowledge in a safe learning environment. Technology Uplift staff provides hands-on computer training. The program takes place during juvenile crime peak hours. This will in turn lower juvenile crime in these serviced communities.

The Uplift Youth Mentoring Program hours of operation will be from 3:30pm to 6pm. During the program community center and Technology Uplift staff will monitor the youths. Technology Uplift staff provides computer training to members of the community. The Uplift Youth Mentoring Program serves youth between the ages of 5 and 17 within a two mile radius of each established center.

Uplift Youth Mentoring Programs has been established at MLK Jr., Central Park, and Butler Park Recreation Centers.
